Summary
The RMA Technician is part of the Production Department and provides support to Manufacturing. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Diagnose and repair electro-mechanical problems within devices returned by customers
- Diagnose and repair problems on surface mount PCBs
- Read and interpret product electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Relay findings to Production, Sales, and Engineering
- Administer related transactions in the ERP system
- Provide repair/replace estimates on RMA’s
- Participate in Production Department functions
- Cleaning of contaminated equipment returned by customers
- Customer service
Other duties, responsibilities, and directives that may be assigned by management are expected to be performed.
Qualifications and Experience
- Associates degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. At least 1-2 years of work experience working in the electrical engineering setting is preferred.
- Ability to operate electrical test equipment such as oscilloscope, stereoscopic microscope, digital multi-meter, and power supplies.
- Excellent surface mount and through-hole soldering skills
- Excellent electronics troubleshooting skills – especially related to surface mount PCBs
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Ability to follow electrical test procedures
- Ability to write test procedures
- Experience using common hand tools (i.e., screw drivers, pliers, drills, etc.)
- Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, MRP/ERP systems, etc.)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
This is an indoor job requiring extensive repetitive use of hand tools and the ability to sit for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a temperature controlled environment.
- This job requires a certain amount of walking about the various departments
- Use of hands is required to occasionally operate various equipment and hand held tools
- The employee must be able to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally
- The employee will be required to wear safety glasses and other personal protective equipment as needed
